PORT ALLEGANY SCHOOL OPENING DELAYED

Supervising Principal Fred N. Hardy of the Port Allegany Public Schools has announced that the 1944 - 45 school opening has been postponed until Monday, September 18, due to the infantile paralysis emergency in the area. Earlier reports had given the opening date as September 5, but action taken by the school board Thursday delayed the opening approximately two weeks.
TV HIGH SCHOOL CLASS SPONSORED BY PORT SCHOOLS

The Port Allegany Elementary School is sponsoring the Pennsylvania State University TV high school courses, it was announced here Friday. The special classes began on Feb. 2 and will continue through May, it was announced. Adult students who have signed up for the course view special television programs at their homes on Monday and Wednesday evenings and on Thursday evening attend class at the school. While in the schoolroom they will view the televised programs from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and will work with teachers from 7 to 9 p.m.
